Max Range in europe

longest so far is 1.5 miles i am pretty sure it would go further but i did not have the space to do it and i was far lower than the drone with obstructions. i got RC lost signal at 1.5 but video feed was still excellent for some reason.

i have seen a video on here of a UK version making 7.1 kilometres, Not sure what firmware he was on.

My Thai Mavic will get a test in April, i saw a Thai group do 7km in Pathum Thani which it just so happens is where my GF owns a company. She knows the place they flew it over. Rice fields as far as the eye can see. He had even more space left. so .............. Maybe i will pay it a visit.

i live too close to London to make any real kind of attempt at range over here..

I've been told that there is no EU version, just a limitation detected by the location of the pilot and local laws. Now it's interesting that you've been able to bypass this limitation.
There is a EU version with limited transmitter output.These are the official remote specs:
Max Transmission Distance FCC Compliant: 4.3 mi (7 km);
CE Compliant: 2.5 mi (4 km) (Unobstructed, free of interference)
It is GPS based.

It is not GPS limited,it is transmitter strength which is limited by software. Those distance numbers are just estimates, you get a lot less in cities and a lot more under perfect line of sight conditions.

Transmitter Power (EIRP)FCC:≤26 dBm
CE:≤20 dBm

This is more or less what i also know. There is some kind of interaction between controller and phone software that limits the range when the mavic is in EU. The same mavic should perform without EU limitation if is flying in th US.

I didn't wrote GPS limited,I wrote GPS based.GPS lock enables or forces the limitation of the transmitter power.In my case,I could clearly reach 7 km if I had the guts.
