I logged onto my account at the FAA DroneZone this afternoon to register a new drone and found that several existing drone registrations in the inventory table were flagged as "Response required." It has to do with validating the RID registration number, which had been entered when they were registered some years ago and as recently as a few months ago. It was a simple matter to edit each and confirm the RID number, apparently no big deal.

If you have drones registered at the DroneZone, you might want to have a look at your inventory table.

It's a crappy database. In my case, every single "active" drone in my inventory requires the Remote ID to be "validated" so you just hit the button and re-save it again. It looks like now the FAA will have full control over the IDs you enter and if they want to block DJI drones from being registered, it's easy because you have to "validate" the serial number/remote ID before you can add it. I suspect one day this registry will be closed.

If and when that day comes, the drones can still be flown. The FAA just won't be able to link a registered owner to them in their database. That would be counterproductive to their goal. When drones are outlawed, only outlaws will have drones.

Thanks for that, it was useful. I had to revalidate all my registrations, drones and RFID I use for my RC planes,
