I registered my m5p back in early October when I got my drone then. First thing I did! Added it ti my existing reg on my drones.Apparently you can't register the ones which are included in the battery Plus combo kit but the ones included in the other kits can be registered?
WTF does that mean?
This is what happens when the manufacturer pulls out of the market and has no control over the message leaving it up to all kinds of people to make unfounded representations and claim from FCC to weights to RID and now....registration. Are they trying to steer people away from this sku?
Or......
Maybe the "opened and activated" kits this particular vendor is selling to the American public are re-packaged with drones inside that cannot be registered with the FAA because they are outside the serial number range perhaps? This is why you don't go with unknown sources because who wants an overweight M5P with RID which must be registered but can't with standard RID.
This is why you can't necessarily believe everything you read on the internet. If it means anything, my M5P drone from the Plus kit (purchase in S. Korea) is successfully registered with the FAA using a serial number within the approved range according to the FAA RID DoC: 1581F9DE000000000000 - 1581F9DEZZZZZZZZZZZZ
