MEETING LIGHTNING, 1ST & 2ND TIME

Pilots,

Something that I never expected or anticipated when I bought the Mavic was to capture lightning...

This **** was amazing!!! But I captured it by accident three days ago, and then on purpose today (but my footage was cut short to half a battery.

Both times I've been extremely unprepared, can you guys please give me the best advice about filming lightning. The next storm is on Monday, so I only have 5 days to become the best at it.


In other news, I landed my Drone on a meter square block of concrete in the middle of a pond, about 70 meters away from me, and it was awesome.

I did it right before it started raining on us. So I only stayed on the block for a few seconds.

Also, I learned that I couldn't pull the drone down from the sky as an emergency landing. Is there a way to kill the engine so that I can straight up just snatch it from the sky?

You should calibrate gimbal position. On all pictures it is tilted to the left.

Look through the settings on the drone. Should show you an option for a kill switch

I'm gonna calibrate the gimbal for my next flight and look through the settings to find a kill switch!

This forum has been perfect for any kind of question or concern I've had thus far. Just wanted to give you all a big shoutout! It's made my life way easier!

Also, I need some serious help in regards to the memory card:
1) I find myself constantly having to "format SD card" before every flight so that I don't run out of memory storage
2) I don't know what "format the SD card" even means but it's been working as my way of clearing the memory card so that's cool
3) "cache is full" basically pops up before every flight too, idk what that means either but it hasn't interfered with any of the footage so it has really bothered me
4) did you guys end up buying a bigger SD card or have you stuck to the default one?
