Steven, I don't want pour cold water on you're efforts but do you realise you were flying within the controlled airspace of Liverpool John Lennon Airport? Whilst it's not strictly speaking 'illegal' and you were obviously being careful, it's not to be recommended especially given that the Government/Civil Aviation Authority are presently considering legislation to govern drone operations. There is an excellent free drone related app called 'DRONE ASSIST' produced by the National Air Traffic Service (NATS) which shows not only controlled airspace nationally but also other places where drone flying is discouraged e.g. microlight and parachute airfields, prisons, schools, etc. and in addition it shows on the maps ground hazards such as pylons and power cables etc. It really is worth having when planning flights. Best wishes and good flying!
