Micro USB OTG cable... working and not working

I bought a OTG USB micro B on both side, 8" long cable to connect my Samsung TabE tablet (Android 7.1,1). Unfortunately, I tried both side of the cable on the tablet and it doesn't work. I tried the same cable with and old Android (6.0) phone and it worked with the HOST side of the cable on the controler.

It's strange that the tablet with a more recent Android version doesn't work and the phone with an old version 6.0 work perfectly.

Any idea why?

I forgot to tell that the tablet work fine with the small DJI cable that came with the drone.

Wear or deformation in one plug socket combination perhaps, I have one phone and some cables that are VERY sensitive to plug orientation with respect to the socket when they are paired up. This is one reason I do not like the mUSB connector.

Maybe but when I use the small DJI cable, it work with the tablet and the cable work with the phone. Maybe the shape of the mUSB on the cable is a little bit different and didn't fit properly in the tablet. Hummmm...
