I have literally shot video and flown all morning today. I've plugged inAnd unpluged all day without any problems. Had an awesome morning and shot some awesome 4k. But when I got home and I kept to to plug in to charge the remote control it would not hold the cable nothing happened. It appears the micro USB port had been damaged somehow. I don't understand How , I've always taken great care with that. But now it will not charge and it will not hook up to the phoneTo operate the drone. So I'm a bit pissed....... Would that port be something I could buy and fix Myself or should I let the care refresh with DJI handle it. When you send things to them you're looking at 5 to 6 weeks minimum as what I've found.

I've had numerous refresh claims and all required between 5-9 days door to door.

But your problem, I think, will be that refresh does not apply to controllers. I'm sure someone else will confirm if that is true or not. Thunderdrones may be a good option.

Good luck.

First things first ... Have you damaged your charging port on your controller??? You may have plugged the micro-USB cable in the wrong way round. There is a small connector 'tongue' in the side-port on the controller that's off-set to one side of the rectangular micro-USB 'A' socket. You can plug a micro-USB 'B' plug into that (has the angled corners on the plug shield), but you must do it the right way round, because the slot that accepts the tongue, is also off-set. If you push the micro-USB 'B' plug into the controller socket the wrong way round, it will force the tongue sideways and break it off at the base! :(
Have a look at the connector and 'ever-so-gently' use the tip of something like a toothpick to see if the tongue has become broken at its base ...

I am so bummed... I had such an awesome day of flying and photography yesterday and now I'm dead in the water because of a micro USB port.... But before I send it back to DJI for them to charge me God knows what to fix it I'm going to contact thundedrones in the morning... this is Saint Augustine Florida yesterday morning.

When you get it back, have a look at the various threads on this Forum where this problem has been discussed to a great degree. You'll find that a lot of Pilots recommend using a USB cable with a magnetic end that then 'clicks' onto a short micro-USB stub. This is popular because you just leave the micro-USB stub attached to the charging port and you no longer have the problem or danger of breaking it ... I Use the NetDot USB cables for this (purchased from Amazon):

Do those stay in the remote? I bought a magnetic adapter but the magnet just pulls the micro usb part out of the remote. It was a cheap one I got off of gearbest.

It will, because the micro-USB 'A' socket doesn't 'grip' the micro-USB 'B' plug. If you try to disconnect the cable by just pulling it straight out, the magnetic attraction is enough to keep the tip attached to the cable! (just like a standard fixed micro-USB cable). Just get used to disconnecting it by rotating the magnetic piece down (or up), to break the connection and leave the tip attached to the controller.
