Is it just me or is the pricing for the new MM2 a bit skewed? I have no problems with the $50 bump on the base setup because of all the improvements. Its almost astounding that they upgraded the camera , added occusync for better range and transmission quality , offer the MA2 remote and improved flight time( even if its only by 1 minute, the batteries are much smaller so its a vast upgrade) for such a small amount. All of that is really worth more than $50 in my opinion. But where it gets "off" in my eyes is in the fly more combo. They no longer offer the prop guards( no biggy to me but thats a $20 value removed) and no longer have a fitted semi hard case. It looks to be the same nice bag as my MA2 so price is about the same but they then add another $50 on top of the cost of the FMC compared to the MM. Shouldnt the FMC kit be $550 instead of $600? Was the MM FMC just too good of a deal before and a loss leader or are they gouging now?

What are you talking about? Ordered my flymore combo for $559 us but I am in Canada. Maybe the US has to pay extra for Trump taxes.

DJI site lists MM2 base at $449us and FMC at $599us. And the MM is $399us and FMC $499us. Its still a little cheaper than buying everything separately but not the 'deal' the FMC have come to represent the last few cycles.

the mini combo is 1.24 times the basic mini, £369 vs £459, care refresh £35 for 1 year ( 2 replacements) That said I got mine in May when one of the big chainstores had the combo of offer for £436
the mini 2 combo is 1.31 times the basic mini 2, £419 vs £549, care refresh £45 for 1 year, £69 for 2 years (3 replacements in 2 years)

I just looked at the conversion and wow, for what you'd be paying for the MM2 fly more combo I could almost buy a MA2 base kit. Now when looking at the CAD to dollars conversion I want to cry a little so I guess it balances out??

But I wont be paying that lol, said another way it's nigh on 2/3rds of the way to a low milage, good condition M2P & combo

Good point on the pricing view re: used m2p. Im very happy with my MM and MA2 but thought if the Mini2 FMC was close enough in pricing to that of the original I'd upgrade and hand down the MM to my daughter. But a 50% price increase on the combo for arguably 10% less stuff(losing the guards and getting a larger but non conforming bag) doesn't sit well with me. Throw in a 4th battery or synchronous high speed hub for that price and I'd be good

I spent almost $700 on Mavic Mini 2 fly mode combo and 2 years refresh...that’s pretty steep for many for an entry level drone that it was intended to be. $500 mini 1 for fly more combo was far more reasonable and I bet will still find many opting for mini 1’s for price alone. They are still great little drones. I mean another $100 u have yourself a MA2 for $800

PRECISELY the same thinking occurred to me this morning, I am not buying lol. It would have gone a loooonnnngggggg way towards a 2nd hand better drone.

That's not really a fair comparison though. $800 just gets you a bare bones Air 2 with one battery. You need almost another $200 to get the Air 2 Fly More combo, which is the fair comparison with the Mini 2 FMC.

Honestly I think the Mini 2 is a no brainer compared to the Mini 1. Given the few reviews of the Mini 2 I've seen so far, it is very competitive with the Air 2. If I chose my first drone now rather than 2 months ago, I probably would have picked the Mini 2 over the Air 2. But since I already got the Air 2, I'm obviously sticking with it, cos the Mini 2 is not an upgrade.

I think the bigger price difference between the Mini 2 FMC and Mini 1 FMC is smart by DJI. They keep the bare bones option cheap enough to tempt people in, but if you really want to get the most out of the drone, you need to pay a fairer (in relation to other DJI drones) price to get the FMC.

Overall, I'm still blown away by how good the Mini 2 is for its size and price. It's like a smaller Air 2 minus active track and obstacle avoidance. For a much lower price point and less regulatory hassle.

I just did a fast and loose calculation on the MM and MA2 fly more combos. For the Mini its approximately$200us of stuff for $100 and for the MA2 you get roughly $380us worth of stuff for $188. This is, not knowing the battery or hub prices yet, somewhere in the $180 range for $150. Yeah, cheaper than buying separately but not by much and some people might prefer going the hard case route or already have spare usb chargers. It just doesn't feel like there's as much value as they have offered in the past. If I decide to add this to the 'fleet' or hand down the MM to one of my kids i think ill build my own fly more that better fits my needs and possibly save money in the process.

I'd love to know where you're seeing "low mileage" M2P combos for $900. If you have one, I'd love to buy it.

Lowest price in the recently sold list on eBay was $1,170 + shipping, and most are much higher. That makes the $599 MM2 combo much closer to half the price of a used M2P combo.
