You fancy to share the flight log for the pros here to analyse?I have witnessed identical behaviour in Mavic 2 a few days back. It resulted in loss of control, crash and total loss.

The drone wasn't responding to the controller input ant it was slowly gaining altitude. After it had shown the message that home point has been updated for the second time it slowly changed direction towards the suede of the building and ceased to exist. Are you sure that's what happened?
Losing GPS does not cause loss of control.
If that was the case, that's at least two more issues than the drone losing GPS.The drone wasn't responding to the controller input ant it was slowly gaining altitude. In my case, with my first drone, it resulted in loss of control as I panicked a bit as I didn’t get why the drone was drifting so much and so fast. Now being more aware of how the drone behaves without GPS, I am better armed to keep I under control even without GPS (as it indeed can be controlled without GPS)Are you sure that's what happened?

This shows how the number of sats fluctuated for a minute and a half.
The numbers were all over the place but was >0 for almost all of the time.
Climbing from 130 ft to 250 ft made no difference.
Even with sat numbers well above 20, the GPS reliability stayed low (less than 4/5).
The white areas under the thick green line show good GPS at the start and end of the incident.
Thanks for the offer but it wasn't my drone and the owner has already taken this up with DJI.If that was the case, that's at least two more issues than the drone losing GPS.
If you lose GPS, the drone is still completely controllable and maintains altitude.
If you'd like to find out what actually happened in your incident, posting the flight data is what's needed.
Post your data and someone can analyse it and explain what really happened.
Go to DJI Flight Log Viewer | Phantom Help
Follow the instructions there to upload your flight record from your phone or tablet.
That will give you a detailed report of the flight.
Come back and post a link to the report it gives you.
Or .. just post the txt file here.
A replacement drone is on its way to me which is only going to be the third one I’ll have in hands since my purchase. There will be no report of what they found.Update: just received a call from DJI in the USA (as I had asked for service in English when I asked them to analyse the data).
Verdict: send it back for repair
I must say they have a very good and quick service (at least here in China) but it’s a bit frustrating to have to return a brand new drone barely unboxed.
