The thing not mentioned about DCinelike is the 8 bits limit the usefulness.
When trying to get the contrast back you'll likely "stretch" the bits resulting in shadow and highlight banding.
Sure you might save the shadows and highlights per se but there's a price.

at the moment I do not detect any banding problems...strangely enough.

That does look very nice indeed.
What LUT did you use?
I'm hoping the dual ISO has a positive effect regardless of bit depth.

The dual ISO feature will help with noise and dynamic range. Won't help with color artifacts like banding.
8 bits vs 10, you can't improve data that isn't there.
Sorry, I meant the dual ISO reducing the need to use DCinelike with HDR.
