Mini 4 pro and Goggles 3

Just a reminder that the Mini 4P works with the Motion Controller 2 and Goggles 2 and Integra, so if you already have those you can have the same experience without getting an Avata 2 or the MC3 and goggles 3 separately.

Yes, the Mini 4 Pro supports both O3 and O4 protocol.

To answer the OP's question of is anyone going to do it, (assuming he means flying the mini4 pro in FPV with goggles of any type) my answer is yes I already do (with the Goggles 2 and MC2) and its awesome. I don't own an Avata but when my Mavic 3 was updated to work with FPV I jumped to get my Goggles2 and MC2 combo for it. And while it works perfectly, the Mavic 3 is just abit too big for FPV IMO. However the mini4 Pro is a perfect size for FPV and alot of fun to fly in FPV. I highly recommend it!

Very true!

I'd just add the precaution that the M4P is quite fragile compared to the Avatas, so be careful how risky you get with it. FPV is very tempting to do wilder stuff.

Droning on, I didn't realize mini 4 pro works with 03. I just thought 04. Thanks for the info. Now, if everything would just work with the RC2 controller.

To be clear, I don't know for certain if they added support for O3 to the aircraft, or O4 to the MC2 and Goggles 2 and Integra, all have programmable SDRs.

I assume the aircraft, as it makes more engineering sense. One device, codebase to maintain for this feature, instead of 3 older devices that might all have to be modified and then have a firmware release if there was a serious bug.

In a somewhat related question, does the Mini 4 Pro have “on-board” weigh points, as opposed to Litchi, who’s weigh points are transmitted from the RC and, as a result, are rather jumpy?

like Litchi the WP's are sent from the RC2 as the M4 doesnt have the capability to store a flight paths for a truly autonomous flight such as the earlier phantoms and Mavics could.

No, this is completely wrong.

The Mavic 3, Air 3, and Mini 4 Pro all support the DJI waypoint feature, and it works like older drones with Litchi: Waypoints are uploaded to the aircraft, and then executed autonomously.

In the US, continuing the mission on disconnect is an avaliable option. This is obviously not possible if the RC is flying the mission.

In the EU this option is not available in the settings, unfortunately, but only because of regulatory prohibition... Not because waypoint execution happens any differently.

The Mini 3 Pro does not support waypoints directly like the drones above. However, it does have an SDK, so third parties have implemented waypoint applications (Litchi Pilot, for example), but these use "Virtual Stick" mode of control, which is essentially automating remote control from your phone. Disconnection results in triggering normal Failsafe RTH behavior, as configured in the settings in DJI Fly.

Yes. See post #11.

Getting back on track with the OP's question a pairing, I found several YT videos that skip the process of pairing the goggles with the R2 controller. I don't know if it was a firmware issue with any of the devices, but the goggles and the R2 couldn't "see" each other even when connected via cable. Then I found the video linked below that explained you have to go through a phone with the DJI Fly app loaded even if you aren't using it to fly with. His instructions are very clear and although the process is lengthy, mostly because of updating, it worked! DJI should pay this kid for producing the instructions they totally failed on providing.

Linking Goggles 3 to D4P

HI everyone.

New M4P owner here. Thinking about the goggles..

I am receiving some user reports of significant "hiccups" of the transmission rates between Goggles 3 and mini 4 pro in low interference areas. This is of course with all products upgraded to the latest firmware. I don't believe the Goggles 2 suffers from this, with a more stable transmission rate. particularly at close range, in a park for instance...

Can anyone speak to this from their flight experience?
