I recently updated to the latest firmware and have experienced that I have to re-seat the SD card or format it before I can use it for each flight. If I fail to do it this way the drone tries to take a picture or start recording video and the video feed to the controller stops, turns gray, and I am flying blind until I land. I am able to control the drone but get no video feed. Is anyone else experiencing this? The card is brand new, within a couple of months, and does not seem to have issues in any of my card readers and is the fastest card available so card speed should not be an issue I believe.

I am not sure but it should be the latest since I updated it late last week.

I have not, I only have the one card. I could pick another up and try it. It has worked fine until the new update.

I should add that it was a new card and has only been used for a couple of months now

I purchased a new card, and through my limited testing, it was either the card or the Florida weather that was causing the issue. I cannot reproduce the issue now with the new card. The other card was new also and had not caused any issues until the update.

Wild. Maybe try looking it on another platform (PC) and see if it behaves weirdly. Then format it and try again?

I formatted it numerous times in the drone, it was the only way to get it to work. Perhaps it was just a fluke that it went bad just after the update.

Was it made by Nintendo? Did you blow on it?

The card doesn't work in a PC?

I had a thumb drive, one time, seem to go bad. I couldn't do anything with it.
I finally plugged it into an older computer with a special scanning software. I did a scan, formatted it with an older format and then reformatted it with FAT32 and it worked fine after that.

I'm suggesting that maybe there's a corruption of the firmware on the chip and it might be recovered by a solid "surface scan" and repair.

1. LOLOL I had almost forgotten those days. I even have a shirt that a friend got me a long time ago that shows a nintendo cartridge that says "blow me"

2. it does work just fine on my MAC, it was just when I put it back in my drone it would crap the controller out unless I either formatted it in the drone every single flight or landed, powered the drone off, reseated the card, took off again. The whole process did not make much sense to troubleshoot using the latter method but it seemed to work. I also did nothing in the MAC other than copy the files off and eject it.

3. I've done that in the past as well, I could take it to the school and run a forensics scan on it to see if there are any anomalies on it. One thing of note is the card is not on the list of recommended cards for the drone, nor is it on the list for my Air 3S, but that one seems to be working fine. I am assuming it is likely just a bad card or some other currently unknown issue. You may be correct on the low-level format, I may try to do that, otherwise I will find another use for the card or just toss it.
