Mini 5 Pro down over water...

I don't know if anyone watched the video until the end, but it appears as though DJI determined it was some kind of defect as they are replacing the drone for free.

There are times when DJI(and many other product manufacturers)will supply replacement product not because of a faulty item, but simply to keep a customer happy. AKA “good will”.
Or they want to avoid the bad press of a disgruntled YouTube personality.

If they have a bad batch of propellers, it would make sense to out in front of the issue. Assuming that was the case. It could also be a problem with a batch run of motors.

There is a difference between making a guess and stating that tons of other people are having the same issue based on a handful of people in the comments.
Stating the "tons" of people are having problems because of a specific problem and basing that statement on Youtube comments is just a notch or two above a guess.
There may very well be an issue with the props. The locking mechanism is pretty straightforward, but if the props themself don't swing open, then you could have a problem.
If even one of the eight propeller blades fails to extend, the drone will not take off. So an in-flight failure on account of a folded prop is unlikely.

That would be a notch or two higher than I would value it.

That makes sense.

Yes, and I never claimed it was anything else. And what, exactly, is wrong with having a guess anyway ? And who made you arbiter of what other contributors can post ?
I've seen no sign of anyone attempting to prevent another forum member from posting. Only the admins and moderators should be able to do that. Was someone else attempting to block you from posting?

We're all arbiters of what's sensible and what's not. When you make guesses or imagine a problem's cause, you might expect to have comments. It's the nature of a discussion forum.

Show us the data! We can only speculate on what went wrong if we don’t get to see the logs. I found the video of the controller screen confusing and useless.

This is not my drone, or my video, so of course I don't have the data, hence why there was room for speculation in the first place... but worry not - lesson learnt - now I know how unappreciated it is that videos like this are shared I simply won't bother next time.
