Mini wind warning

Does anyone know how the wind warning works on the DJI Fly app? Is it something to do with the power to the motors or the tilt of the drone? How does the aircraft know when it’s windy?

I believe it's based on comparing the airspeed derived from tilt with the ground speed measured by GPS / IMU.
