I just got the MM2 Fly More combo and I can't charge the batteries and the RC at the same time. I have the battery hub plugged in and see one of the batteries is charging. From what I gather it charges them in sequence, so it will likely take a while before they are all charged. I also see there is a USB out port to connect the hub to the RC but there isn't another cable in the kit for this. Do I need to get another cable or am I missing a part?

I read the manual and now understand that the RC can be connected to the battery bank and can either be charged first or after all of the batteries are charged. I guess the only thing that does is allow the power transfer to be automatic, instead of unplugging the charger from the battery bank and into the RC. I'm going to get another cable anyways. That way I can charge both at the same time.

That's a better solution I think.
I have used the hub as a battery pack before and also as a means of draining fully charged drone batteries down to storage voltage (it drains them sequentially so you have to remember to remove the partially discharged battery before it is fully discharged, which is blooming annoying, I can see the reasoning behind that but..... ) but I can't see the point in mains charging the controller via the hub.

Thanks for the reminder Philius. I posted a few days ago about having 2 batts in the hub and1 in the AC and none of them discharging. Just rechecked and one batt in the hub has 3 lights now, so have taken that one out to see if the remaining one starts to discharge. Will check the one in the AC later.
I charge my RC separate from the hub, use the mains charger.

Hey HB1236. Glad to hear your MM2 has arrived. Hope you’ve got nice weather to go out and do some flying. Enjoy the new adventure.
Thanks. I spent last night getting all the batteries and the RC charged plus an hour or so trying to get the RC and the AC to communicate with each other. Finally got that done and was tempted to try a lift off in the basement but decided not to since I don't have the prop guards yet and I no experience with flying one of these. Anxiously waited to get up this morning to try it out and I wake up to 6" of snow on the ground. Spent about 2 hrs moving snow while I was plowing the driveway the sun came out but the wind also picked up. I still can't fly.? Here I sit with my new drone, all ready to fly, looking out the window, waiting for the wind to die down.

While I was in the tractor blowing snow, I thought that would make a great video, if I could follow the tractor with the drone. But this one doesn't have a tracking feature and there I doubt I could operate the drone and the tractor at the same time. Well maybe in short spurts. But first I will need to get some flying experience.

Okay do this., Grab some masking tape or electrical tape or something to make a contrast landing zone. Mark a "X" on your floor. Put drone on top of the "X". Start motors and give it a bit of throttle or just do a auto take off. The VPS system will lock onto that spot and hold hover. You at least can get a hop up with the darn thing and Yaw it around till weather prevails and get it out of your system :) You could put a couple of thoses X's on your floor and creep from one to the other just for the heck of it to get a feel for ole' girl :p

Good Idea and thanks. Now I get to play. oh boy.

Hopefully I don't panic and do something stupid but I should at least get a sense of the control sensitivity (in Cine mode).

Hey HB1236, not sure if you’re aware but sometimes launching from concrete can mess up the compass and make the drone do weird stuff. Things like basement floors, driveways etc can cause a problem. Beware. Don’t want you having an issue early in your enjoyment. If I fly in the basement I usually launch from a wooden table with no steel around to cause a magnetic issue.
Enjoy the test flight.

SUCCESS!:D I put some tape on the living room floor and launched the MM2. Flew it around the living room, very slowly trying to get used to the different motions and sensitivity. It was much easier than expected and all went well. Nobody got hurt, the drone is fine and there is no damage to the house.

I really want to get this outside and spend more time just flying it around and getting use to the information on the display screen. I like using the IPad because of the large screen but will likely use a smaller phone for mobile uses. It's just easier to transport and store.

Yeehaw pilot...good Job :)

Flying indoors, stay away from walls, maybe 1ft+, the 'trapped' turbulent air between the down draught and the wall can wobble the drone a bit plus I think if you get really close there's a bit of a venturi effect that sucks the drone towards the walls.
Stay away from the ceiling, 6"+, they will suck up to the ceiling if you get much closer and then 'stick'.
Don't fly over anything that flaps, I am fairly certain I have seen my mini wobble in accordance with something flapping in the sensor's field of view.
Other than that I would say my MM is cm perfect indoors with good light, very impressive.

I got about 15 mins of fly time outside before shutting it down to due strong winds. Then I moved into the shop and played around there for another 30 minutes or more. It handled very well and I had no issues flying it. The only thing that occurred was that it told me several times to recalibrate the compass. The other thing I noticed was that the camera was jerky when rolling it down or up. Kind of like it was sticking or binding. Is that some setting I need to adjust or is there something wrong with the drone.

Hi HB1236. If I may, watch a couple YouTube videos & read the section on compass calibration as a bad compass can cause you some heartache as the drone can behave badly with a bad compass calibration.
As for the jerky camera that may be the settings needing adjusting. Again great YouTube videos and good info in the manual.
By the way, have you downloaded the full manual from the DJI website?
Happy flying. Stay calm and drone on!

Likely due to rebar in the garage floor.

I probably watched 100 YT videos before and after ordering the MM2, while I was awaiting it's arrival. Plus a few more since. I also downloaded and read the manual before the drone arrived and once more after. But I will still need to refer to it occasionally, since my memory isn't what it used to be plus there is a lot of information in there.
