Lake Khoton and Lake Khurgan, these stunning bodies of water are located in the Altai Mountains of Mongolia and are home to some of the best grayling and lenok fishing in the world. With its pristine forests and snow capped peaks, the landscape around these lakes is simply beautiful. The Khoton and Khurgan lakes are connected by a wide channel and together form the Hovd river. This river drains the entire Mongolian Altai region. Khoton was formed by glacial blockages, while Khurgan is the lowest point in the Altai Tavanbogd National park.
