Hi Guys.
well i continue in this series. this is literally the first time it happened to me altough i have owned a MP1 for a long time and never ever had problems.
Probably it's my fault or it's the drone's fault... i don't honestly know and i can't understand what happened.

i explain my self:

i just got the MP2. excited, i did all the updates and everything, i did my first flight in beginner to increase the safety and did that for a full battery.. and then second battery i extended my flight distance.. tried a few modes.. everything was perfect.

theeeennnn came the 3rd battery...
everything worked nicely.. i wanted to try the hyperlaps with my brother.
it was night (yes) and we tried the way point one.
we did not really understand how it worked.. .somehow sometimes it took some "way points" and sometimes it did not work...
after trying a few times,,we manged to get the way points and were able to click on "GO".
it started of and then the minute i check, the camera faced down and the drone was in the wineyard.
i managed to find it thanks to the map (was super scary though)

somehow, in all that stupid story i was extreamly lucky .. it laned in a totally unexpected way and has zero scracthes or anything...
i started it again after and in beginner mode to be safe... nothing was wrong... everything worked perfectly..
see the pictures..

my question is .. what did happen?
did something go wrong with the waypoints ?
i tried to extract the log file and put them here (tell me if they are wrong or whatever.. first time i do this).
it didn't fall down from the sky.. it flew down....

thank you for your help <3

It sounds way too ambitious trying hyperlapse in the dark, on your third battery from new.
well yeah..can't argue about that... i though i would have all in control as i am used to drones...was wrong as it turns out.

All's well that end's well they say.

You have a drone guardian angel it seems. Better off trying the waypoint stuff in full daylight lol.

Did the video feed or saved photos not shed any light on what happened?

just descended after this; no stick input:confused:

Mode changed to Time-Lapse

Flight time: 14m 23s
Altitude: 166.3 ft
Home Distance: 490 ft

i definitly will not try it again during night.. but my question is.. did i do something wrong with the sticks ? as i understand i didn't no? the aircraft was within the limit of distances ..... why would it stard descent?

i really had an angle with me.. no way this would happen twice

OA off is probably why it descended during timelapse.
Did It? just returned to the direction of home but for safety descended? my thoughts!

OA = Obstacle avoidance ?
not sure it was one or off - why would it go down, there is literally nothing around where he was (and 50 m above ground)

Downward Obstacle Sensing is not functioning.__Ambient Light is too weak.
Backward Obstacle Sensing is not functioning.__Ambient Light is too weak.

what i don't get is that a lot of people do waypoint timelaps during the night and they don't seem to have troubles

try in the daytime to know what you're doing before venturing out in the dark
Edit;
either that or sponsor a guide dog
you're flying blind

what i don't get is that a lot of people do waypoint timelaps during the night
and they have experience

hmm yeah don't understand.. i'll have a second try during day.. but so it was not a user problem but machine right?

Can't see anything clear about what happened, but you did set beginner mode (which restricts max distance a lot and is basically only meant to learn manual flying) then repeatedly tried to make it go farther away than that limit in Hyperlapse mode. There could have been some weird interactions there.

no no , beginner mode i did at the very begining.. i always do that when i get a new drone to get used to it without having too high risks. then once i 'm ok with it, i exit that mode and increase continuously the range.
i own a MP1 for over 1 year and never had any incident, trouble and so ... my flight distance max is 4 km with the MP1... so i'm not inexperienced =) i flew in 5 countries, i fligh almost every weekend with my MP1.. so yeah .. (regardless of season.... in snow, in summer.. mountains.. over the lake.. started from a paddle board and landed back there. .. and so on ... ;D )

but what happened here with the MP2.. i can't explain..and since i never had any problems i never had to face a log file... i'll try it again let's see... maybe i went too fast over something ?
I'll re-calibrate all the sensors as well..

You DID have either beginner mode or a distance limit set too close for what you were trying to do, as posted higher your flight log is full of "Maximum flight distance reached. Adjust the distance in MC Settings if required" and "Aircraft exceeded distance limit and has exited Hyperlapse mode" error entries...

yeah i got that, but my drone never descended when reaching flight limit - ?

It might be different when trying to pass it using an intelligent flight mode than when flying manually as I mentioned earlier, and hitting some sort of bug.

But we also have no idea what you did in hyperlapse mode. You say you were playing with the waypoint mode, it's possible you simply entered a point with a wrong altitude and it followed just what you told it to do. There is no log of that so we'll never know.
