Hi folks
I’m new to this (DJI Mini 2) and am very pleased with the quality of the videos I am able to take (good content will come). ne problem I have is that the file size from the drone is huge. I would like to play it back using my PLEX account but it buffers for 30-60 seconds before starting and buffers during playback. PLEX is running at 200mbs. I am running my PLEX server on a high end Dell laptop (i7 chip and 32mgb of ram). Other 4K videos play with no problem
As far as I can see there is no way of changing the file format on the drone.
Any advice as to how to sort this out would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards

Are you recording using "H.265" encoding? Depending on the client side settings, this requires much more horse power of your server to transcode. Assuming this is all on your local network, try recording in "H264" and for playback change your client setting to "direct play".

Good luck,

Hi Talkenrain

thank you for your message. Yes, it is running in H264 mode and direct play.

we have replaced some network cables and the hard drives in the NAS.

not sure where to go next - it is still slow to start and buffers on the tv, via the Firebox box.

is there any merit in trying to convert the films to a different format ?
