I don't understand where you were controlling the drone from because it looks like you must have had the mountain between you and the drone at some stage, and wifi (even ocsync 3) doesn't go through mountains ...

All flown from the SE, totally open signal LOS, nothing behind any part of the peak.
Possibly flown form the rock climbing carpark, or Steve Irwin Highway.

I've thought about flying towards Tibrogargan from Wild Horse Mountain lookout, but a tad far to be 'comfortable'.
There are small plane and possibly helicopter flights that go below summit height through the Glasshouse Mountains.

The walking path to the summit is located under the ridge near the end of the flight.
Very steep and many rescues are done there by authorities through each year.
Haven't bagged that one yet, but on the bucket list.
