Nice work. A bit hairy near the end.
According to manual, RC max transmission is 7km (FCC) and max flight distance 13km (no wind). So doing the maths, with stock RC and AC, probability of getting home would be low, by 1km. Obviously quite a few have managed to do it, under very ideal scenarios. Personally, I won't be game enough to try, knowing it could fall short by 1km, and/or killing the battery draining it to 0%.

I've been out too 41000 ft and came up short by 9000 ft. still have signal just knew I did not have enough battery.

I was expecting it to go UP to 40k feet.
