Buy a cheap nasty fishing rod with a dirty great hook on the end and high strength line and leave it in the car. Cast away until you get the branch/branches that are holding the drone. A bit easier than lugging a ladder around a forest.

of top of my head, would the "pause" button not be a solution to use? granted you got to remember to use it at the right moment and in time lol

Exactly, I had my Mavic kick into RTH and I was under a tree, I hit the pause on the remote and it stopped immediately..
