My first mavic 2 repair

I posted about this drone a few days ago about the front sensors were not working and the dji app showed front sensor error. This mavic that I purchased on eBay was crashed and the seller said all it needed was a camera when I received it i also noticed the body frame looked like they tried to pry it open anyway I took the top of the drone off and the middle body frame was cracked where they were trying to pry it open and had the right front axis and the left rear axis broken so I purchased the body shell and all the parts I needed from drone bits and really happy with there drone parts and took every part off the broken drone and built it on the new drone shell and it flies like a new drone even the front sensor error got fixed I think I did pretty good for the first time ever doing it

Great job! You might want to watch those solder joints as some of them might be cold joints. A hard landing or even normal vibration could jar them loose. However, this is only based on what I can see in a photo! Kudos to you for even trying to do this!

What are cold joints

Cold solder joints happen when the pieces being connected are not hot enough for the solder to easily flow when applied to those surfaces. It can also happen if no flux was used.

It often happens when the tech fails to apply enough heat to the surfaces being joined BEFORE touching the solder to those surfaces. If done correctly, no additional heat from the soldering iron is needed. The solder will flow onto those heated surfaces. Doing it this way allows the pores in the metal to open and the solder bonds with the metals. Otherwise the solder merely sticks the two pieces together.

The cold joints look more like a glob or ball of solder rather than an even, smooth and slightly mounded surface. Again, it is really difficult to tell in the photos so don't freak out. . They might all be fine.

Thanks for that information. I’ve soldered before but not no expert and as of now everything seems to be working great it was my first time trying to fix a drone and did a lot of research on how to do it before attempting it. And was really surprised when everything worked good I’ve always been the type to tinker with things and try to figure out how they work and Disassemble and reassembled and now I know more about the drone than before I attempted it.
