Narrowboats, Nottingham Castle Marina in 4K

Nice video! Just out of curiosity, did you need additional license/permission for this footage?

Bought our narrow boat from there 10 years ago.
Sadly don't have it any more.
Live about 13 miles from marina now
Great video

Sadly no
Whilst I loved the whole experience the wife hated it

You do need a qualifying license, footage like this cannot legally be taken as a recreational flyer.
Don't try this in the Netherlands. When they catch you and the judge has a bad day it can cost you till 7000 euro's!

When you check in the dgi no fly zone section of dgi go there is no indication of needing any permissions to fly above castle mariner so would nt the rule 150 metres apply from any building? Also max height limit also of 400ft?

It’s not the Marina that’s the issue, it’s flying over vehicles people and buildings within the city.

I should add the NFZ data in the UK mostly relates to airports, prisons, heliports etc. The rescue services Police and Fire Service can setup on demand NFZ when required but the CAA include these in their list of regulated activities.

Very cool. We have nothing like it in the USA. Must be tricky for the longer boats to make the turn coming out of that narrow opening.

Just slow and steady. They were designed to be pulled by horses along the canal side. A very peaceful way of life. We’re lucky that many of the canals have been reopened and lots of restoration going on.
