I have bought a set of filters for my M2Pro but they have no details as to how to fit them. They don't seem to just clip on like the MP filters. Id there a frame on the front of the lens which needs to be taken off first. If so how do I do that. Any assistance appreciated. Keith

In addition to the video Dirk recommended which tells you most everything you need to know, I want to mention that the more you use the filters, the easier they go on and off. Personally, I prefer to have the aircraft on it's back and I hold the gimbal gently with my left hand and remove or install a filter with the right (if you are right-handed, of course.) When it's upside down, the large tab on the filter should be the closest corner to you. Get all the tabs seated then turn gently clockwise with a slight push toward the camera. I used the PolarPro filter tool the first few times and after that, it was easy to do it without the tool.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I've started carrying a pair of nitrile gloves in my backpack to handle the filters and avoid the otherwise unavoidable finger print smudge. A microfiber cloth is also part of the kit.

I grabbed a 3d printed filter removal tool off ebay for £1.99, never leave home without it now, so much less fiddly for taking them off and refitting.

Hi, just a quick question:
Has anyone else had a problem with the Hasselblad lens cover when removing it to fit a ND filter?
Had an all to rare sunny day yesterday so took the M2p out for a fly at the local park. As it was sunny I decided to use a ND8 filter. I turned the Hasselblad filter anti clockwise to remove it and a piece fell off!
Feeling a little sick, I examined it and found it was a small corner piece from the inside of the cover. Tried to replace it with tweezers but it just falls off again.
Can’t see what it’s for.
Have contacted DJI support to see if they will help out with a replacement, will update.
I guess it’s a cautionary tale in case it happens to someone else and they don’t notice.
I’ve attached photo.

Take care, Peter

First time ive seen this tbh, mine is constantly been switched for filters but never had any issues, hopefully dji will come good and send out a replacement sharpish.

i would just superglue it back. it is not an essential part.

That's kinda what I thought, Paul although I didn't get mine out to look at it under a magnifying glass. Tabs are fine so the stock filter should go back on no problem. At least I hope so for the OP's sake.

Thanks, just wondering what it’s for, I can’t see a use for it but my ND filters have the same piece. Fingers crossed for DJI to come through with a replacement.

It almost looks like a little counterweight and if so, you would probably wanna glue 'er back in.

<a couple minutes later>

Pulled my stock filter out and looked at it with a magnifying glass and unless someone has a better guess, I'm putting my pesos on counterweights.

I only have PP filters but have most of what they sell and after looking at three or four randomly, all being aluminum, I'm guessing they were more easily able to get the desired filter weight as they have no such "pieces." Never have weighed any of them though, probably should. Then again, there are probably a hundred posts with the weight of ALL the available filters. <grinning> Let's see what the EXPERTS have to say, I'm probably way off base.

Edit: Peter: Are your filters in a plastic or aluminum frame?

Hi, the frames are metal, not sure what make, my son got them as a Christmas present. The “broken” frame is the actual Hasselblad filter that comes with the bird, it’s aluminium I think.

To be honest I don’t think you’re far off the mark saying they could be counterweights, that would make sense to keep the gimbal level.

I’ll wait to see if DJI replace it and glue it back if they won’t. Just Lucy I found it and thought folks should be aware of a possible issue.

Thanks again for your thoughts, take care. Peter

Attach that picture when you contact them but do not send in the entire drone for that small piece!

Good advice. I’ve sent the photo over weekend, just waiting for reply & hoping they won’t want the piece sending back ( fingers crossed).

My son has looked at it and thinks it’s part of the locking mechanism with a small spring loaded ball bearing going into the hole. If he’s right it’s fairly important and a blob of superglue may not hold it.

Interesting suggestion by your son and the spring/ball bearing idea makes sense with the divit in the widget although I can't see how this idea would be implemented on the camera. Perhaps they just press every so slightly against the camera frame to prevent it rotating and coming off? I don't know but I don't think I'd be using that stock filter until the purpose for those little pieces is explained correctly.
