Stupid question maybe, but can you use the ND16 filter in Auto mode. I noticed tonight that the video was slightly overexposed as I flew across the lake?

As I see it the only purpose for ND16 when shooting video is to make sure your shutter speed consistently stays at double the frame rate, which can only be reliably done in manual mode. For stills I can't see any use for this filter at all.

I use auto all the time and never use ND filters. I have noticed that videos are often slightly overexposed in full sun. I just dial down the exposure control down to -1 or so and they come out great.

The problem is that the exposure control does not work in HDR mode?

I thought we were talking about video. My understanding is HDR is only for photos and there is no need for ND filters for stills.
