ND filters and scratching..

Can ND filters scratch the camera lens easily, as it appears there is no protection on the back of these filters? Thankyou.

I do not believe there is a problem if the filter is correctly mounted.

Since I would not expect the filter when you install it to be touching the lens, I am not sure how it would scratch or damage the lens

Oh ok....I didnt realise the filter when fitted is away from the lens...I assumed it was almost touching...

I am sure its relatively close quarters, but I would not expect a design that would have the filter intentionally touch the surface of the lens during removal or installation..
