I was running the batteries to keep them fresh so I decided to leave my propeller guard on the bottom of the drone for whatever reason. Well, of course I forgot to take it off before flying. The drone is OK but nerve-wracking moment after I started the motors. The MP started to rise and I could not get it stop. Since I've ind of been waiting for this day and I've been on this forum for awhile I didn't panic. Just flipped the switch on the side of the controller. But - no - kept going up. Slowly. When it got up to about 40 feet I still could not get it to respond to the sticks. So I told it to land. That it would do. It started into the landing mode (at 40ft) and kept going down but at a fairly controlled rate. And that's how it hit the ground - probably coming down about 5mph vert speed or so - about twice what I typically see. Thanks to tall grass and drone OK.
