I'm a new pilot. Complete novice when it comes to cameras. I sure could use some help with the following:

1. In the Gimbal settings what's the difference between FPV and FOLLOW?

2. Under the 5D button settings what does the GROUND STATION option do? Also what option is applied if you depress the 5D button?

3. What function is activated if you check the ENCLOSED PROPELLER GUARD option?

4. In the GAIN and SENSITIVITY menu what settings would you recommend if I don't want rapid movements? I would like it just a little more sensitive than TRIPOD MODE.

5. When at a hover, even in tripod mode, my MP drifts around in all directions. What can I do to reduce drift?

6. I'm using my MP to take videos and pictures. I want to use them like they're recorded. I don't want to run them through any type of photo enhancement programs. What camera and video settings would you recommend?

Thanks so much for your time and help!

1) FPV is for when your racing with Goggles. It fixes the Gimbal so it does not stay still but instead moves with the Mavics motions. You normally use Follow mode for regular flying.

2) What do you mean by Ground station?

3) Propeller guard is for the new propellers and the new guard that DJI just came out with. Do not turn it on unless you have the special guard and propellers.

4) Thats up to you and how you want it to move when your filming. Do not be afraid to setup the Mavic on a Wall or table outside and point it out towards some trees and fool around with the gimbal and camera settings.

5) Are you indoors? If so it is a bad idea to fly it indoors, it will crash! If your indoors it needs to have a floor beneath it that has contrasting patterns and also bright lighting on it so it can observe the floor pattern. If your outside you should have GPS lock so this should not be an issue.

6) That's a big question. See my number 4 answer. Some people like ART, some D-Cinema. Lots of varying opinions.

Ground Station is one of the options available to assign to the 5D toggle.

What is AE lock/unlock?

I really appreciate your answers. Very helpful!

AE is auto exposure lock. When turned off the camera will periodically adjust exposure based on the current lighting. If you want it to not change while recording, enable the lock OR select manual exposure in camera settings.
