Nervous newbie

Welcome to the forum.
It will come with practice. Just remember two basics until you get hold of things.
If you get in a flap take your hands off the sticks. The drone will just hover while you compose yourself. Secondly, if you get in trouble - get as low as possible before you try and bring your drone back to you.

Welcome to the forum and greetings from San Diego.

My first advice. Don’t trust those sensors too much, learn to fly without them.

welcome to the forum ,we were all newbies once your not alone ,just find a nice quiet open area ,and start low and slow ,try not to just rely on the sensors to save the day,its a steady process that takes time take small steps and master the controls before you think about pics and video

Hi Pippa,

As others have said, take small steps until you gain confidence and practice in a wide open space so there is little chance of a collision. Never rely on the sensors to keep you out of trouble, they’re not foolproof.

Make sure you’re confident in landing by yourself and only use Return to Home (RTH) as a last resort. Make sure too to read and remember what RTH does as it’s more complex than a ‘get out of trouble’ one press option and several important options to select.

Above all, have fun!

Hi Pippa Jo Welcome to Mavic Pilots.
New flyer advice,
Wide open space.
Slow & easy
Power-lines & trees are evil.
Don't expect RTH (Return To Home) to save you especially if you are under trees.
Don't forget to read the manual ;)
Download Air 2 manual HERE
You want an SD card that is U3 for 4K
Most of all have FUN

Welcome to an exciting (and expensive) hobby!

There are plenty of great places in the UK to fly - just be sure you aware of the new regulations which came in to force yesterday.

As everyone else said - slow and not beyond your limits. If you feel things are getting away from you just stop, take your fingers off the sticks and take a breath.
