Hi there
I got a new air3 , was new in box seal

During the first flights test
The drone was not rolling to the left
And was not pitching backwards
The rest worked fine

I tried each mode ( C N S ) with same results
The controller is the rc2

MI missing something there ?

Thanks

We need more info...HOW did you open and set-up the Drone?
Did you download assistant 2 and upgrade any firmware?
Did you get all the little shipping stickers off? look closely lol
Where did this maiden flight take place?
If you are new to Drones--Whatever you do DO NOT put it on "S"!!!
Don't test your new Drone INDOORS.

In the app menu (control) there is the option to perform a controller stick calibration. Run through this process - you will see if the stick movements are matched by appropriate direction commands. Start with the simple stuff.

I second sharing a flight log. It'll probably be easier to see what happened if we can review the flight data.

Don't worry about the Assistant just yet I was just wanting to know if you followed the guide and setup the drone per DJI's steps.....You are good in that respect if you read and followed the manual. clean those sensors with a little 91% alcohol and then if no joy
I would
1. Look at post #5 and do that >
2. Post the logs > and then
3. Reinstall all firmware. > if no joy.....
4. Send it to DJI...

Anyone know if that "feature" disabling sideways movement is still in Fly and implemented for the A3?

While not an exact match to the description, this feels a lot like that. I was bitten by it with the A2S, and spent way too much time trying to figure it out.

Good Question! I wonder.

This is pretty strange though.

My guess is that the controller sticks are bad, and the controller needs to be returned/replaced. Makes no sense that only those two axes wouldn't work. You're getting signal to the drone. The drone is hovering and flying, so probably all the sensors and the controller is working OK.

Maybe talk to tech support next?
