Hello

My husband has just bought his first drone and we are very keen to try it out but didn't realise how difficult it would be to find a place to fly it! We understand the drone code and all of the rules etc. Apart from by the coast what sort of places do you tend to fly? Or do you always ask the permission of the land owner? Any help or advice would be appreciated. We've been looking at the Drone Assist app and several maps etc but are really quite stuck! Thank you

Hi Moppysmum Welcome to Mavic Pilots.
I live in the lake district & fly almost wherever I want, it’s OK in the National Parks but not National Trust land.
The only time I had an encounter with a farmer he had me fly up a fell to look for his sheep.

I fly all round Essex. Just find a parking spot or footpath and take off. Never had a problem.

Hi Moppysmum. Welcome to the forum. You should be OK over public open spaces, country parks, etc. as long as you observe the rules on proximity. Your local council may have restrictions, so you might want to check. Happy flying.

Welcome to the forum from the beautiful woods of Maine!
