I purchase a Magic Pro 2 as I have a construction project.
I am 1 mile from the airport and want to film the construction on my property. What do I need to do and what do I need to watch to learn how to have it take automatic routes around my property recording video??? Will it do that? Can I launch it automatically from the same place every week?

If you use waypoints through the Litchi app this is very easy to accomplish.

But living 1 mile away from an airport... You're probably in a no-fly zone. I'd double check DJI's geo-zone map before you drop a thousand on a drone you can't fly!

Hi @sand4man ... Welcome to the forum ...
If the Mavic 2 Pro is your first drone, you are on a steep learning curve. You have purchased a very sophisticated piece of flying electronics and camera equipment. I know you want to just let this thing go off on auto-pilot - But - can I suggest the following:
1) If the weather is bad outside, don't succumb to the idea that you can fly your new drone indoors!
2) Even if the weather is good outside - still don't fly indoors!
3) Download the latest DJI manual for your drone (Mavic 2 - Specifications, FAQs, Videos, Tutorials, Manuals - DJI), and study it.
4) Make a list of questions regarding things the manual doesn't explain well enough for you, and then look those things up on YouTube.
5) Hit YouTube like crazy for beginners guides regarding pre-flight and first-flight checks so that you know the basics of how the Mavic flies, and what the various different parts of the DJI Go4 application do.
6) Do some basic 'lazy' squares flying left square followed by right square in front of you in a big field, so you can get used to how the controls are backwards as the drone comes toward you. Do this first in 'Tripod' mode, so the drone is doing everything very stable, and very slow!
7) Once you get to that stage, you can then start to look up YouTube vid's about 'Waypoints' and how that works. That will do what you want - but I can just about guarantee the if you don't go through steps 1 to 6 first, you'll be one of those folks posting on this forum, with a story about how your drone was lost!

I would add that, even with its limitations, stay in beginner mode until you are very familiar with function of the various features so that there are no bad surprises. Also as well as being outside, pick an area to learn in that is open, flat, and clear of power lines and other physical and magnetic(compass) barriers or interference. Pardon my manners, welcome to the forum! Enjoy your bird!

Yes - that's the other thing ... Being 1 mile away from an Airport is going to severely cramp your ability to do anything with the drone, as it will at best - require you to authorise the flight in restricted airspace, or at worst, will put you in a No Fly Zone where the drone will refuse to fly!

An excellent and comprehensive list of advice!

Good advice here. One mile from airport means you might buy an expensive drone that won’t fly there.

Google. “DJI map” and see if it’s fully restricted where u are at.
