I was testing out the target lock for the first time when my new Mavic 2 flashed it’s lights for a split second and then fell about 30 feet to the ground. I turned it off and on and it flies fine but the gimbal got messed up. I’m attaching some pics/vids to show what it is doing. Can someone let me know what they think broke? Here is a video of it turning on(sorry for the creepy slow motion sound)

Could you post it in real time? It could be a broken gimbal ribbon cable or motor assembly, but no visible signs of damage on the exterior of the gimbal.

Can you also post some more pictures of the complete drone unfolded?

At second glance, this might be your problem. It's possible that the roll motor on the gimbal motor assembly got crushed, and is now binding. With the power off, try turning each of the gimbal motors through their full axes and check for any binding or "scratchy" points.

I might rewind a little bit and express some concerns about why it flashed its lights and dropped. I’m thinking a call into DJI support is in order to determine the cause and initiate a warranty claim

I got the standard message from DJI support (make sure the software and firmware is updated and restart everything). Other than that I can send it in and they'll let me know if any damage is covered by warranty after they look at it. Everything is up to date. I am getting an error message "gimbal motor load too large please check if the gimbal clamp has been removed"

Again forget about the gimbal, the real problem is that it fell down.
That's what you need to complain about to support and get them to fix it under warranty.

Unless you did something wrong of course.

Night want to post your flight logs so people can potentially advise you about the cause.

Having the same problem. I get a feed, but the gimbal is reporting errors. Did you find a resolution for this? My error is the same, and it's occuring after a small crash (about 2-feet, bumped into a wall).

I had a similar problem with my other original Mavic, which needs a ribbon cable replacement after getting shuffled around in a backpack. Are these ribbon cables availabe for the Mavic 2 and is that a common fix?
