Hi all

Just purchased my first drone Mavic Air just waiting for delivery then need to do plenty of reading and test flights

Live just outside London so pretty hard to do anything local around here from what i've been reading so far but sure i'll find somewhere i'm allowed to use it.

If you have not done so already then look at installing UAV Forcast and Drone Assist as these will both help with weather conditions and flying locations.

Which direction outside London? Couple of good places to practice Watford way.

Croxley common moor is a great place to practice flying and filming, not too far to travel

I actually joined a local model flying club. Gives me dawn till dusk access and up to 690ft flight. It’s not massively exciting to shoot photos there but a great way to practice moves and test after firmware updates etc.

That’s near me. Are there any restrictions? Are the council good with drones there?

It’s good there, i’ve had quite a bit of interest from dog walkers etc, all very positive. Apparently there is a model flying club day there quite regularly but I haven’t seen them yet.
