Hello!!

I'm considering buying a Mini 4 and I would like advice on how to set me up at best!
I think I'll buy a FlyMore Combo and I'm new to this level of drones.

Here are some of the questions that I thought of, but please advise ad needed!
  • do you recommend buying a DJI Care Refresh? How does the substitutions work? It's not clear on the website
  • what's the first things to do with this particular drone? I think a software update check, but then? Any recommended tweak?
  • how good is the RC range behind obstacles? I mean: will I be able to make it fly around a 10m x 10m 3 floors house?
  • they say the RTH work even to inside a window, is this true and reliable?
  • what other accessories would you recommend?
Thank you a lot!

-I cannot respond to the care refresh question, we do not have that DJI luxury in the country where I live.
-The first thing to do after unboxing your drone and updating firmware is to NOT try flying it in your house.
-RC range is the least of your worries when flying indoors. Drones rely heavily on GPS data for most wonderful things they do and calculate on the fly, GPS signal is dodgy indoors, the drone will be limited to optical downward sensing to fly stable, so flying down a dark corridor or over floor surface without pattern will see you controlling in Atti mode, not desirable, even to experienced pilots.
-RTH relies on GPS data, I do not think you'll achieve 'home point updated' indoors, best home point recording happens with the drone about 20m directly above take off point, so I personally would never attempt the 'return to home inside a window' thing. Also, taking off inside a building is going to cause magnetic compass problems which might result in yaw error which will see your drone fly away at high speed until it crashes itself against something.
-For what you have in mind the first add-on should be prop guards.
You might want to consider a 360 camera for what you have in mind. Drones are best used outdoors at altitude where they will encounter less obstacles and a unique view not obtainable by grounded cameras. You'll be amazed by the drone like footage obtained with 360 cameras on a 3m handheld stick, and with far less risk of damaging expensive equipment.
The YouTube drone 'reviewers' never fail to amuse as they battle through undergrowth and dense forests trying to get a poor drone following them without crashing, get with technology and buy a 360 camera :)

Hi, thank you. About the RTH indoor, I saw the "RTH without GPS" of the Mavic 4 and thought it was present on the Mini 4, but I was wrong.

The RC range question is intended out door: could I fly around my house starting from my garden?

I intend to use my drone mostly outdoor, but the indoor scenario could be great in case I can start flying from a high floor of some high-rise.
