Hello
I used the DJI Care for my Mavic 2 Pro two times: The first time, I sent them the drone only, in the original box and I kept the battery and the controller. The replacement unit was shipped in the same box so it was not sealed but the drone had all the stickers and no "R" in the serial number. I checked the production date and it stated that the unit was 4 months old. It had minor scratches but I was not able to figure out if they were due to the transport or if they were already there before. I didn't have any problem with the aircraft as opposed to the original one that I bought from an authorized retailer and who suffered from softness corners and signal issues, but I'm still wondering if they sent me back a new or a refurbished unit.
The second time, I shipped my drone and the controller for repair with my third party case (not the original box) and the replacement unit came back in a brand new SEALED box who contained the drone only with all the stickers. I received the battery in another SEALED box and they sent me back the original controller in my own protective case. The drone appeared to be new until I looked closely and saw some scratches at the place where the battery has to be inserted. No "R" in the serial number and the drone was built pretty recently (September 2019) but the model is stated as unknown. As opposed to the first time, there was a new sticker sticked on the sealed box where the words "DJI Care" were mentioned. It also stated that the box contained the aircraft, the gimbal and the camera only.
I still have to test it but except the minor scratches, I'm pretty happy with the unit I received and the service was blazing fast! It looks like they have definitely improved their customer service. Thumbs up DJI.
I'm just wondering if there is now a way to tell if the drone is a new or refurbished aircraft? How guys did you receive your replacement unit? in a sealed box? Did you get a new or a refurbished drone?
I forgot to mention that I had to activate both drones on DJI GO 4 and link them to my account like I did with the original one
Thanks for your answers
