hi guy's, looking at getting a mavic, but will I need to get a new phone for the controller? I currently use a sony experia z5. I checked on the list of best phones to use and the sony z3 was on there. cant see why the z5 isn't.

It's not that you won't be able to use it, but it may not be very unstable. Besides the fact that the Android OS has been not very reliable with the DJI GO app.

Not sure about the Z5, but I think the earlier models (over?) customised Android features preventing easy upgrades.
You will love your new iPhone [emoji6][emoji850][emoji457][emoji736]

Well I won't be getting an iPhone for everyday use, hate iPhone iso. If I have to I'll get a second hand unit just for the mavic.

I'm using a Wiko Fever 4g and don't get any android troubles since so far. I prefer get in jail for a year rather than own an iPhonesh*t ahah
Of course iPhone is a great smartphone but definitely overpriced
