Is it easy to use? I intend to invest in a maxed out Apple Studio (for my AI work) and a byproduct use would be to use it for video and audio editing, I know nothing about either.
An expert cousin of mine mentioned something about codecs and I'm still not sure if I should get Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premier Pro for Apple Silicon.

Davinci has a free version which is very capable. Many YouTube videos to help you learn.

Resolve & PP are the best but certainly not the easiest to use for a beginner. Capcut or say Filmora might be a good place to start because they are simpler, cheaper & provide the basics you'd need to get started.

I agree re Resolve, far from easiest to pick up but great reward when you do, considering the features you get with the free version. I have the free version, currently 20.3 and have just purchased a book to supplement the YT videos. I tend to prefer reading the book while using the program.

Davinci resolve definitely works well on my 2024 base model M4 MacBook Pro. I edit 4K as I have an Air 3s.

If I recall you have a Mavic 4 Pro, so unsure the Mac would perform as well with Resolve with 6K footage if you have similar spec MacBook

I've been doing some research. I intend to get the M5Max MacBook Pro 16 with 128GB/8TB SSD, due to be released anytime soon. Apple Creator combo will also be released end of this month which includes FCP. I'll start with that and then purchase DaVinci; I'm not looking for a free version.

Later in the year when the M5 Ultra Mac Studio is released, I may get that too with 512GB/8TB.

Nice and you’ll be future proofed somewhat A MacBook with those specs wouldn’t break a sweat editing 6K.

I think Resolve Studio is a one-time purchase lifetime licence at circa US$ 280.00

Think rumours for the higher spec M5 silicon MacBooks point to a possible 26th January release
