I'll start off by saying I'm sorry for not being very techy. But here goes. If I get a Nexus 7 to use with my Mavic remote controller will it need to have service like my Android phone does with Verizon?

Thanks again for the many questions I have had help with,

Tony

Your Nexus 7 will work without having cell service. The difference you would see is in how the maps work. With cell service your maps are continuously updating, and without cell service you have some options. You could fly without the maps, you could load up the maps at home off your wifi, or a third option is to tether your tablet to your cell phone using the cell phone's data access. I think the key thing with the Nexus is to make sure it is the second generation or 2013 version so you will have enough juice to power the app.

Thank you very much.
