No, unfortunately the product will need to be CE Certified, it will not cover Mini’s sold prior to that certification.... Basically DJI have milked the ‘existing’ Mini and early adopters for all its worth.

I have a tello too. There a follow me app that actually works pretty good. And that a cheap drone.

In the case of the Tello, that's accomplished by the app rather than onboard firmware on the Tello.
In the case of Mavics, object tracking is performed by the onboard firmware, not the app. I even tested this for the MM by engaging a quickshot, then disconnecting the phone from the AC where the AC continued to complete the shot.
