Out of the box straight up AUTO mode my video is overexposed and pretty flat (color wise). Now for someone who has very little photography knowledge and who doesn't wish to do any post editing, what is a good basis on settings for video just to make it look good right off the card and no post production.

thanks in advance.

I had the same question ... I'm probably near to my 50th YouTube video on that subject now!
No doubt you'll get some good advice here, but there are loads of very good YouTube vid's that go through the settings of the camera (and the drone!), to get the best cinematographic effects. I've noticed that it does depend on what resource you have for post-production, as - if you own a Cray super-computer and can run the top level Video editing software, then you'll set your Mavic's video differently than if you are doing everything on your iPad tablet.

You don't say which drone you have, but basically because most drones have a small sensor and if you are shooting in auto you will find that if you keep the camera pointing down so as not to include to much sky also keep the sun behind the camera you will fine it easier to get a better exposed image.
You can also apply some compensation to fine tune the exposure + 1/3 or - 1/3 etc.
Depending on which part of the word you live the sun might be at a low angle.

From all the YouTube vids I’ve watched on the Mav Pro (300 and counting!) 2.7k, True Color +1 Sharpness
