Not like my previous vids, my flying here is more candid as the blistering California heat makes Alamos Canyon a challenging place to cover on foot. It's a six-mile loop of little shade that gives way to rolling hills and rugged desert peaks. There's a variety of rusty oil wells quietly chugging away along the slopes high above Alamos Canyon, their hard labor only recognizable by binoculars or drone.
