Old Epidaurus is scattered from antiquities as in the area of the modern village was the city of Ancient Epidaurus. From the ancient city of Epidaurus today is preserved the Small Theater of Epidaurus which is located on the peninsula Island. The theater is dedicated to the god Dionysus and according to the inscriptions it is estimated that it was built in the 4th century BC. After 23 centuries in 1971 its excavation began and even today works are being carried out for its complete restoration.
