Hi everyone,
Today, an small and not very well known little island in the Golfe.
L'île aux Œufs (Eggs Island) is one of the many islets that dot the Gulf of Morbihan. As its name suggests, this small island was historically a preferred nesting site for numerous marine bird species.
Its characteristic oval shape may have also contributed to its naming. This uninhabited island is part of the string of islands that compose the unique landscape of the Gulf. It is visible from the coast and during boat trips in the Gulf.
Its strategic position makes it a natural refuge for local avifauna, particularly gulls, cormorants, and other marine birds that come to nest there.
With a modest surface area, l'île aux Œufs represents a characteristic element of the Gulf of Morbihan's natural heritage, contributing to the ecological richness of this semi-enclosed body of water that is home to more than 40 islands and islets.
Enjoy the flight,
Matt
