I painted my Mini orange to make it easier to view with different shades of green backgrounds.
Just used a water based hobby paint

Yes it was better painted. White and orange showed up better when flying close to a forest.Welcome to the forum from Chicago the Windy City.
Interesting. Was it worth it?
I love it. Super visible. Sunkist!

Put the mini in a field of long grass and flew over with another mini.I love it. Super visible. Sunkist!
I left some of the top white so it could be seen better from above in a crash.Checked your photos. My drones are skinned also.
Using VLOS they all are little dark dots beyond 250’ or so.
Skins are very useful in event of crash or forced landing at distance though.
Not too shabby! I’m a sloppy hobbiest. I’d be concerned with the sensors etc. although phantomrain.org sells waterproof drone coats in a couple of noticeable colors and as I believe he actually uses two different colors to more clearly make the front and rear aspects more obvious. I’m yet to order one yet but that’s the way I think I’ll go. Fool proof, foul proof and waterproof. But from the pics it achieves your goal nicely. GodspeedLooks good against the blue sky.
First photo at 120m altitude.
It was only a water based hobby paint so will come of easy. All the sensors are working good just make sure I didn't paint over anything. Not too shabby! I’m a sloppy hobbiest. Strobes are useful for determining the drone’s orientation and extending VLOS.It was only a water based hobby paint so will come of easy. All the sensors are working good just make sure I didn't paint over anything.
I might change the colour so I can tell which way it is pointing but the remote tells me that.
Has made a big difference against the green background of trees.
Yes, I am looking at that next. Just have to find some good ones.Strobes are useful for determining the drone’s orientation and extending VLOS.
I like the Firehouse ARC XLs. Use mounts from our own @Aerial-Pixel . See the 11 sec video below... check the ground.Yes, I am looking at that next. Just have to find some good ones.
