Is anyone using the PhotoPills App - its AMAZING!
Although I've not used it yet the functions are great and too complicated to explain here. Basically it tell you the exact time and location you should be to get the perfect sunrise/sunset. The Cameras it has must be in the hundreds including all the DJI Drones, when you select your drone all the camera information is set. Plus you can upload your photos and win up to $3,000. I originally downloaded this for free as an 'APK' but felt so guilty that I uninstalled it and installed the paid version at nearly £10, I'm too honest, but a lot of work went into this App and it was well worth every penny.

Yeah, I use it a lot. Really nice tool to have in the bag for planning, both for drone and traditional photography. Other tools I use regularly in my photography (Android, not sure about iOS availability) are:
  • DJI's pre-flight checklist
  • DoF calc (one of many, just find a UI you like)
  • Google Keep (a post-it/checklist tool)
  • Microsoft OneNote (useful for logging all kinds of stuff)
  • SkyMap (a planetarium)
  • SunPositionMap (quick and dirty sunrise/set times and angles)
  • The Photographer's Ephemeris "TPE" (another "tool kit")
  • UAV Forecast (weather)
  • Windy.com (weather)
Plus a *long* tail of things like aurora, storm/tornado, tidal, and wildlife forecasters/trackers for specific trips.

Hello zocala, You sure have a good list of Apps. I also have a few of those but my main ones are AirData and UAV Forecast. The rest are not used much - but as they say 'they're there if I need them'.
Try these if you don't already have them:
Free Map Tools (PC).
FPV UK.ORG (insurance).
Apps:
Drone Co-Pilot. (Basic check list).
Golden Hour Calculator.
Flock Cover Drone Insurance.
Tasks: To do list, Task List, Reminder.

Another useful one for photography is Sun Locator Lite, free on Android but I think you Apple guys are out of luck.
In map view it shows the direction & length of shadows for any location and time, also lots of other useful info in the app.

No!
'Trolling is defined as creating discord on the Internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people by posting inflammatory or off-topic messages in an online community. Basically, a social media troll is someone who purposely says something controversial in order to get a rise out of other users'.
Why would I do that!

Photopills doesn't show length of shadows explicitly but you can gauge shadow length from the path of the sun that Photopills draws on your phone. When Photopills is used in AR (augmented reality) mode, you point your phone (actually the phone's camera) to a given direction you're interested in, and Photopills draws the paths of the sun and moon on the display. That way you can see not only their direction at any given time but also their height above the horizon. Note, to use that feature you'll probably have to remove the phone's protective cover if the cover has a magnetic latch. Otherwise the phone's compass will be confused.
