Platinum Props more DOG friendly!

...I know, you're like "WTF, another prop thread?" but this was too funny and true not to share.

I think DJI can add this to the marketing spiel on the new props;
"Dogs freak out less."

My Labrador goes absolutely ballistic when I fly the Mavic. I think it started because she was barking at a bird looking thing that didn't behave like a bird and fly away from her... but now she is just keyed in on the noise, beeps from my remote, all of it raises her attention. When she hears the drone, it's game on, lot of barking and very difficult to calm her down. And she's actually a pretty chill dog, normally.

I was flying this weekend and realized that with the new props, she can't hear the drone as well. I only have to fly a little bit away from "home" and she doesn't know where it is. Likewise, I can fly around a lot more, in Sport mode, buzz near but not right over my location and she doesn't flip out.

So, yeah... Platinum Props; Dog Friendly.

I think since the motors turn at a lower rpm the higher harmonics have changed into a less sensitive frequency. I'm sure she still hears as well, it's just not irritating to her.

This was moved to the "General" Forum. I can't tell from the branding on this website, but isn't the General forum all drones?

This post, even though lighthearted, is specifically about the noise the MAVIC makes and the reduction with the new props.

The Mavic forum doesn't get that much traffic that it needs to be so heavily moderated. The day's posts are usually confined to the first half page. Most people only read the "Mavic Topics" if that's the drone they have. I understand a moderator's desire to have people branch out to other boards, but if those boards get less traffic, the threads just die anyway. You'll get more ad clicks if you keep the thread where the people are.

Now, if this General Forum is for only the Mavic... apologies. It's tough to tell as the website has my header as "Mavic Pilots" but the list of forums seems to be segregated into Mavic and non-Mavic. As far as I know, the Platinum Props are only offered on the Mavic. That's at least all the comparisons I've read.

Nope, it's just the volume that she can't hear from as far away. Less dBs is less dBs.
With my dog it isn't the annoyance of the sound, she is actually trying to look for it as soon as she sees me take the remote out of the bag. Before I even take off (she hears the tones when I turn on the Mavic) and then it's game-on! Eyes in the sky, anxious, looking for that darn bird...
