Poor quality on Facebook

I uploaded my first video to Facebook and it looks terrible. It looked fine on my iMac. Does iFacebook compress files to a small size no matter what or if I save at better quality will the resulting video be better?

you have to create the video in the best quality you can, facebook does compress the videos

Start a YouTube channel then post the link to Facebook. Looks 100% better.

dropbox is another good one to use

Dropbox is a very good idea. They will not re-encode the video. It will be up to you to upload something that will stream correctly.
