Power off options for better mileage?

I'm wanting to be able to shut off features to save battery power when Im running low and coming back against wind. I know that my GoPro hero4 shooting in 4K uses enough power to get hot enough to shut itself off, and my iphone gets hot processing the control software and recording the video stream from the Mavic (and killing its battery) so I figure it must be a big draw of power, add on the optical sensors, LED lights, sonar etc and thats a bunch. Or is it? compared to the draw from the props and IMU? Does anyone know if it is meaningful to do this? I get it would only be in emergencies, that OA, LEDs etc have their place, but at the very least to stop recording 4K video onboard (since a 720p stream is going to the phone regardless). That may be difference between a wet and dry landing!
