What do u do for your pre-checks folks ?
What apps etc are u all using to check for ie airspace, weather etc
I’ve got quite a few apps at present to check UAV forecast, drone assist, drone buddy, air map
And DJI app also
Only having flown mine few occasions,so it’s basics first, reduced heights, speeds etc and so forth

Preflights should follow a pattern. Make your list and follow it.
List may include, battery condition, props, sensors, controller, screen device and the area you intend to fly from.
Your safety and those around you have a place in the list also.
Stay safe and have fun!

Flying from my driveway in the boonies, Class G area...
1 Visually assess weather and with UAV Forecast for wind profile.
2 Make sure SD card is installed
3 Twist props to make sure they are locked
4 Make sure battery is 100%, Controller too
5 Boot
6 Observe status list and Format SD Card
7 Wait to acquire minimum GPS satellites
8 Make sure drone is facing correctly on the map
9 Verify signal strength and batteries are max
10 Clear area & takeoff
11 Hover a few feet off the ground to observe functionality and stability.
12 Go fly

the most important thing to remember before you take to the air ,is take your time
do all your airframe checks as listed above
airspace checks including weather and surroundings
and only when you are satisfied that you are ok to fly there start up the RC AC and screen device
although it sounds complicated the more you do it the easier it becomes
only take off when you are satisfied all is well,a few moments spent doing these things will greatly improve your flying experience
you can never prevent something outside your control but the better prepared you are the better chance you have of avoiding disaster
